Sindhu representing team Chennai Smashers defeated badminton superstars, Saina Nehwal who represents Awadhe Warriors in straight sets to reach the final while Mumbai Rocket’s Hyun Sung Ji defeated Rio Olympics gold medallist and Hyderabad’s Carolina Marin to reach the final of PBL 2017.

Smashers lose their mixed doubles match and Tommy Sugiarto lost his men’s double match against Srikanth Kidambi, Chennai came back strongly as Indian badminton player P Kashyap defeated Vincent Wong Wing Ki and Chris Adcock and Mads Pieler Kolding defeated doubles specialists Goh V Shem and Markis Kido in the men’s doubles. The main attraction of the match was the battle between top two Indian badminton stars PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal.

The Mumbai Rockets continued their form in the semi-final too and destroyed the Hyderabad Hunters as most expensive player of the season Carolina Marin faced defeat against Sung Ji Hyun.
