Away from the cold hilly terrain of Sikkim, there is another Indo-Sino bout that is taking place. Albeit the situation is different. Here’s Vijender Singh vs Zulpikar Maimaitiali fight date, schedule and tickets info.

Before the two heavy lads finally lay hands on each other, the two met in the NSCI Dome in a customary trash talk press conference that we are now so accustomed to witnessing. The two mocked each other with utter disdain and more. The only spoilsport though was the lack of immediate counterpunches since Zulpikar does not know English.

First, it was the chance of the man from China and he didn’t disappoint about his bragging skills. The 23-year-old southpaw confidently bragged,”I will knock you out!” It was uttered to frighten Vijender but too much of Zulpikar’s disappointment all it could do was to bring a wry smile on the face of his opponent.

The wry smile was not alone. The smile was accompanied by Vijender’s own words of self-proclamation and opponent’s defamation. He scoffed his opponent saying that he was a mere kid of 23 years and 8 fight old (though forgetting his own experience in pro boxing, he is also 8 fight old.) Questioning his opponent’s fighting prowess, Vijender quipped that Zulpikar has fought only in his homeland and also that all of his opponents were inexperienced.

He retorted that he was ready to knock his latest defeat and hand him his first defeat. Vijender seemed confident of his preparation that he has been undergoing in Manchester under Lee Beard. Vijender heated the moment when he made the bout as a symbolic battle between China and India and urged Mumbaikars to support him by flocking to the NSCI Dome on the 5th of August.

All said and done, the actual fight is going to take place in the ring on 5th of August and one thing is for sure one boxer would have his record blemished. In their careers of 8 match, each both the fighters have been undefeated. Vijender has won 7 of those matches by knockouts and Zulpikar has knocked 5 of his opponents. Also one of them is going to be stripped of his title, both hold a title each.

Vijender is the reigning WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight champion while Zulpikar holds the WBO Oriental Super Middleweight belt. And with the winner getting both the titles and also the crown of ‘KING OF ASIA.’ expect the match to be a cracker jacker with lots of action.
