Bangladesh vs South Africa 1st ODI Prediction & Preview: The tests are done and now there is the advent of the shorter formats of the game in South Africa. After two non-pulsating test matches in which South Africa completely thrashed Bangladesh with the absolute disdain it is time for the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series to take centre stage. South Africa vs Bangladesh 1st ODI will be played on Sunday, 15 October 2017. It would be an exciting series as Bangladesh has never defeated South Africa in ODI series away.
The two test matches were completely one-sided. The Bangladeshi batsmen looked out of sorts and also out of place. They were not able to cope up with the seam and pace of the pitches and the South African pacers proved to good for the naive and inexperienced Bangladeshi batsmen. Also the pacers from Bangladesh failed to exploit the resources that they had. There bowling arsenal though looks promising but isn’t able to adapt to the more conducive pitches in South Africa.
Though the situation at hand is completely different from the tests. Bangladesh over the years have shown immense potential and grit in the shorter formats of the game. They have been pulling off upsets on a regular basis and are no longer minnows in the shorter format. They play an attacking brand of cricket which is conducive to survive in the South African conditions.
They will also be aided by the fact that the pitches aren’t going to seam or swing as much they did in the test matches. The green cover is going to be replaced by clean hard decks which are going to be batsmen paradise. Playing on the rise and through the pitch of the ball is going to be much easier than it used to be in the test matches.
The first one-day international is scheduled to be played on October 15 at the De Beers Diamond Oval, Kimberley. There is a huge toss bias at the Diamond Oval. The venue has hosted 12 one-day internationals till date out of which 9 have been won by the side that has fielded first. So the team that wins the toss in this match is more likely to have a bowl first.
Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis will be holding the aces when it comes to batting for the team from Africa. These two had a phenomenol test run and would like to replicate the same in the shorter format. They would be ably assisted by the AB devilliers and the bowling would be spearheaded by Kasigo Rabada. Dane Paterson would make his debut for the Proteas.
For Bangladesh Tamin Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rehman will hold the aces in batting. These three have immense experience and the tigers from Bangladesh would be hoping for a fight for them. The bowling would be dependent on Fizzy who can still create havoc. Here is the Bangladesh vs South Africa 1st ODI Prediction who will win?
