There will be seven total seven teams participating in this edition of BPL T20 2017. The six teams – Comilla Victorians, Dhaka Dynamites, Rangpur Riders, Chittagong Vikings, Khulna Titans and Rajshahi Kings from the previous season and one team added this season that is Sylhet Sixers. Barisal Bulls who were the part of Bangladesh Premier League last season was excluded from the tournament because they failed financial terms and conditions. Pakistani players will be unavailable in the league till 17th November due to their domestic cricket league.
