The New Zealand captain, Brendon McCullum playing his 101st and final Test scores fastest Test Century of all times scoring hundred of just 54 balls breaking the previous record set by Viv Richards against England in Antigua in 1986 and Pakistan’s Misbah-ul-Haq against Australia in Abu Dhabi in 2014, both scoring of 56 balls.

The New Zealand captain, Brendon McCullum playing his final Test as he announced his retirement before the series begin against Australia, reached his 12th Test century from just 54 balls in Christchurch which is the fastest test century of all time.

McCullum was dismissed for 145 and this was the end of 179-run partnership with Corey Anderson. Corey Anderson reached his fourth Test half-century from 39 balls and was dismissed for 72 before tea. Wicketkeeper BJ Watling scored 58 and give the New Zealand bowlers chance to hit back to Australia.
