A total of 18 teams will feature in the competition, 10 teams will play the County Championship Division One and rest 8 will play in Division two. In the County Championship 2017, all teams will play 14 matches rather than 16 like the previous season. The 2016 Champions Warwickshire will start their title defence against reigning T20 Blast champions Northants.
