The Caribbean Premier League (CPL T20) 2017 will get underway in August but before that, the tournament will have its annual draft where owners of the teams will choose the players for their squads. CPL 2017 will be the fifth season of the competition. Hero CPL 2017 Draft takes place on Friday, 10th March 2017 in Barbados. The Hero Caribbean Premier League 2017 player draft will witness some of the world’s greatest T20 players join the league. The six franchise teams signed one marquee player before the draft begins. The players in the highest bracket of CPL 2017 will earn around $160,000.
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson have been recruited by Barbados Tridents while South Africa allrounder Chris Morris recruited by St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga will join St. Lucia Stars for the CPL 2017 season.
Brendon McCullum, Martin Guptill, and Kumar Sangakkara have been retained by Trinbago Knight Riders, Guyana, and Jamaica Tallawahs respectively. West Indies powerful batsman and captain of the current champions, Chris Gayle will play for the Patriots this season.
