Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Player Draft 2017

Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Player Draft 2017 is scheduled to take place on Friday, 10 March in Barbados. A large number of domestic and international players have registered for the tournament. Total 258 players from across the Caribbean and other cricketing nations like Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are included in the CPL draft 2017.The CPL draft 2017 list includes a number of local West Indies talent including two-time World T20 winner and St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots star all-rounder Marlon Samuels.

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, Sri Lankan bowler Lasith Malinga and South Africa allrounder Chris Morris have been signed up as marquee players in the CPL 2016 while Martin Guptill, Brendon McCullum, and Kumar Sangakkara have been retained by Guyana, Trinbago Knight Riders, and Jamaica Tallawahs respectively.

CPL draft 2017 includes 28 players from Australia including Brad Haddin, Ben Hilfenhaus and Brad Hogg, Adam Zampa, 17 players from New Zealanders including Corey Anderson, Grant Elliott and Jimmy Neesham. The list includes four England players.

Pakistan will feature the most number of players in the CPL 2017 players Draft. Toal 46 Pakistan stars have registered for the tournament. Afghanistan players are also included in the draft for this year’s Caribbean Premier League including IPL 2017 bound Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi.

CPL 2017 is scheduled to take place between 1 August and 9 September but the complete fixtures is yet to be announced by officials.
