The 11th edition of the ICC Women’s World Cup, Women’s Cricket World Cup 2017 is scheduled to start on June 24, while the final while final will take place on July 23 at Lord’s. It is an international women’s cricket tournament which is held once in a four year. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the full match schedule and fixtures for the ICC Women’s World Cup in England and Wales.
It will be the first time that the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup tournament will be held in England since 1993. Eight teams will each other once to win the biggest title. Total 31 matches will be played during the 21-days long tournament. All the matches will be played in Bristol, Derby, Leicester and Taunton.
ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2017 Fixtures
As per ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2017 fixtures, Host England faces India in the opening day while New Zealand faces Sri Lanka in Bristol on the same day, 24 June. The six-time and reigning champion Australia will take on English team on Sunday, 9 July in Bristol.
Pakistan will play five of their seven matches at Grace Road in Leicester which is home venue for the team. The top four teams in the group stage will progress to semi -finals which will be in Derby and Bristol on 18 and 20.
Australia, England, New Zealand and West Indies is the top four of the ICC Women’s Championship who earned an automatic qualification while the remaining four spots took by South Africa, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Women’s Cricket World Cup 2017 Venues
ICC Women’s cricket world Cup will be played at five venues of England and they are Lord’s Cricket Ground, County Cricket Ground, Bristol County Ground, Grace Road Cricket Ground and County Ground, Taunton. The final match of the tournament will be played at the Lord’s Cricket Ground.
