What a heck of a match did we witness in 1st ODI! Some astounding hitting by English Batsmen, some really poor bowling by Indian Bowlers, some careless batting by Indian batsmen and at the end carnage by KING Kohli and Kedar Jadhav to emphatically guide India to an indelible win. Now it’s time for 2nd ODI between India and England which is scheduled to take place at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack and will be played on 19 January 2017 at 1.30 pm. so, till then check out the India vs England 2nd ODI prediction, match preview and squad.
With the hangover of the first match still lingering, both the teams move to Cuttack, the venue for the second ODI. Both the teams would have their own share of headaches. Firstly, English team would be hugely disappointed and deflated by the loss. They had put up such a big target on the board and it was their match to loose and they lost it.
A couple of things would be giving them a serious headache but none more than their pedestal bowling. Their bowling lacked depth, variation, experience and most importantly potency. Especially their spinners Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali were lack lustre and leaked runs. England would really want their spinners to come to the party in Cuttack where the pitch is going to be slow and assist the spinners.
However, England, unlike India, would be more than satisfied with their batting.Whenever your team puts 350 on the board you know that your batsmen have done their job.But the team would expect from Alex Hales to go all guns blazing after he missed out in the previous game.
The form of Root, Stokes and Butler is likely to give the sleepless night to Kohli. But these batsmen aren’t the only reason because of which Kohli should be worried. He has got his own set of problems in his team.
The biggest problem for India is surely the bowlers. Whenever Ashwin doesn’t take wickets, this Indian bowling attack looks implausible.Bumrah was on a no ball giving spree and Umesh Yadav repeatedly missed his line and length.
Only bright spot was Jadeja who did not emanate runs. The annihilation of the Indian bowlers in the final overs is becoming a sight more frequent than rain pouring in Cherapunji.Virat needs to recall Bhuvi who has been warming the bench off late and also entrust Yuvraj with more bowling.
Unfortunately for Kohli, bowling isn’t the only concern. Batting looked wobbly in the last match.Dhoni and Yuvraj at 4 and 5 don’t cater well for India especially when both are past their prime. But kudos to Kedar Jadhav for playing a gem of a innings to rescue India from the precarious situation. Kohli would be hoping for an encore from him.

As far as my prediction is concerned, India will win if they chase. That’s because the imperious form that Kohli is in, any target is small for him.
