IPL 2017: Andrew Tye, Samuel Badree takes hat-trick on Friday

You might think that getting a hat-trick is probably the most difficult thing for any bowlers. But what happened on Friday will change your thinking. IPL saw the history being made on Friday as there were two hat-tricks on the same day in two separate matches within a span of a few hours. Gujarat Lions fast bowler Andrew Tye took a hat-trick after Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Samuel Badree who picked first hat-trick of the season against Mumbai Indians.

Andrew Tye, Samuel Badree takes hat-trick on Friday

The first match of the day was played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB went to bat first on a wicket that was good for bowling. They posted a low score of 143. After the half inning, everyone must have thought that Mumbai will win the match very comfortably. But, what happen in that chase almost surprised everyone. When the chase started out came off the best spin bowler in this format, Samuel Badree.

Samuel Badree plays his cricket for West Indies and has played t20 match across the globe. He has enormous experience when it comes to bowling in the limited over format. He took the ball and bowled a decent first over. Then, in his second over he dismissed Parthiv Patel first with a brilliant delivery. Then out came McClenaghan. Badree continues with the over. He bowled a good delivery and batsman went for the glory shot and Badree got his man. This was the second wicket in two balls.

Then came the captain of Mumbai Indians Rohit Sharma. Badree was on Hat-trick. He bowled a brilliant ball that took the stumps of Rohit. This completed a brilliant hat-trick. But, one thing that would have hurt Badree that he was not able to lead his side to victory.

In the second match that was played between Pune and Gujarat, another hat-trick was taken. Gujarat decided to make some changes in their bowling attack after they only managed to pick 1 wicket in their 2 opening games. They game the chance to Australian fast bowler Andre Tye. He is known as the expert bowler in the t20 format because of his hard to pick slower deliveries. He could not ask for the better debut as he managed to pick hat-trick in his very first game.

He dismissed Ankit Sharma first with a brilliant slower one. Ankit failed to pick the ball and hit the ball straight in the hands of Brendon. Then came the turn of Manoj Tiwari. He also failed to pick the more allow ball and game the catch on the boundary. Then, came Shardul Thakur. Tye bowled a good knuckle bowl that went through his defense. He got his first hat-trick of the IPL in his very frist game. This is his second hat-trick of the season as he also got one for the Perth Scorchers in Big Bash.

This was a great day for all the people who say that t20 id all about big hitting but today both the bowlers showed that if you bowl the right length then you will succed in his format also.
