IPL 2017: RCB makes lowest IPL total, KKR win by 82 runs

Royal challenger Bangalore has a habit of making records and they currently hold the record for most runs scored in the single innings. In the match against Kolkata Knight Rider, they made another record, which they were not hoping for. In the match, they were bowled out for just 49 runs. This was the lowest score made by any team in the single inning in the IPL so far. They were dismissed in just 9.4 overs. They not only lost the match that they should have won comfortably, this loss would have destroyed their confidence.

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders would be happy with their excellent bowling performance in the match. They would be happy with the fact that all the wickets were picked up the fast bowlers of their side. They have also sent a strong message to the other teams in the IPL who thought that KKR depends on their spin bowlers to win the matches for them.

RCB makes lowest IPL total

RCB won the toss in this match and decided to bowl first. KKR started the match brilliantly as their opening batsman gave them the flying start. But as soon as Gautam Gambhir got out, the whole batting lineup collapsed. They only managed to score 131 runs in 19.3 overs. It was a brilliant bowling display by RCB bowlers. At the half time, everyone thought that it would be an easy win for RCB as they had Gayle, Kohli, de Villers in their lineup.

But all things changed when RCB came out to bat. Kolkata bowlers looked like they were on a mission to win this match and the only way that they could have done that is to bowl out RCB and they did exactly that. KKR drew the first blood in very first over itself. Nathan Coulter-Nile dismissed RCB captain Virat Kohli on the third ball of the inning. As the captain went to the dressing room, all the batsman just followed him. It looked like RCB batsmen were in hurry to catch their flight.

In the very next over Umesh Yadav dismissed Mandeep Singh. Coulter-Nile came back in the 3rd over and got rid of dangerous de Villers. The hope of RCB fans came to an end with the quick dismissal of their key player. But they were hoping that Gayle would rescue them. Chris Woakes came in the 7th over of the match and ended this hope as he got rid of Gayle. The whole team was dismissed for just 49 runs on the board. The quality of batting performance could be analysed from the fact that they were not able to play even half of their overs.

Virat Kohli also said that this was their worst batting performance in the history of IPL and the batsman need to change their plan and do it soon. Now, it will be interesting to see the tactics of Virat Kohli in the next match.
