The IPL Orange Cap is a cricket award presented to the player who scores most runs in the Indian Premier League T20 tournament. The batsman who scores maximum runs in IPL gets the orange cap to wear in the match.
IPL 2016 season is all set to kick off this Saturday, 9th April 2016 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The most popular T20 cricket league is scheduled in April and May of every year.
Orange Cap in IPL
IPL was started in the year 2008, Shaun Marsh from Kings XI Punjab had won the orange cap in the founding year. Since then, Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore teams have won the IPL orange cap twice while Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad have won once.
