The world’s most popular cricket league, Indian Premier League (IPL) is known for its high action, mouth-watering matches and high-profile players who entertain fans. The 10th of IPL is all set to kick off next year and all the eight franchises have already started releasing their players. Reports suggest that the teams have released 40 players which are back in the IPL 2017 players auction. The deadline for the same was 16 December which came to an end on Friday.
The IPL franchises always lookout for good and quality players who can strengthen their teams and to do this they don’t even shy to kick out big international players. Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) who debut last season were a poor team led by Indian limited-overs skipper MS Dhoni along key bowler Ravichandran Ashwin. They finished at 2nd last spot after the 14 league games in the points table.
So the decision of RPS to release their most of the players looks a good but surprising part is that last season’s champion Sunrisers Hyderabad also release some of their players. It is said that Kevin Pietersen, Dale Steyn, Eoin Morgan, Morne Morkel and Mitchell Johnson are have been released by their respective franchises.
The Kolkata Knight Riders have also released players like Morne Morkel, Jason Holder, John Hastings and Colin Munro. Pawan Negi who bought by Delhi Daredevils in huge amount will also go under hammer once again in IPL players auction. However, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore are also believed to have released few players but there is no official confirmation about it.
