Defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) is all set to lock horns for the first time in the 10th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) tonight at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The live telecast of the match will be available on Sony Six and Sony Six HD in English in India while Hindi commentary on SET MAX and SONY ESPN/HD will telecast it in Tamil, Telugu and Bengali as well. You can watch MI vs SRH live streaming online on Hotstar.
Sunrisers Hyderabad has been in blistering form as they are one of only two teams yet to lose a match this season (other beings KXIP). Sunrisers started their IPL season 10 campaign the way they finished their last season by registering a massive 207-4 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening match of the season and defended it pretty easily winning by 35 runs. In their second game against the Gujarat Lions (GL), SRH restricted opponent’s power-hitting, star-studded batting line-up to a mere 135 and chased the total down by just losing 1 wicket and with 5 overs to spare.
Their batting order looks in top form as Moises Henriques scored the fifties in both the matches and Yuvraj Singh looked at his vintage best as he scored a smashing 62 off just 27 balls in their first game against RCB. And then in their second match, the skipper David Warner reinvented his form after finishing a disappointing test series with the bat against India just 2 weeks ago.
The 18-year-old Rashid Khan has been their star with the bowl with 5 wickets in 2 games and both Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ashish Nehra also chipping in with important wickets and very good economy rates thus far. And now with their star of last season Mustafizur “The Fizz” Rahman back in their side for today’s clash, they are looking like the side to beat in this season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians (MI) looked very shaky in the first game as they scored a very good 184 against Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) but couldn’t defend the total as their bowling looked very much out of sorts and they weren’t able to find the right combinations as Pollard bowled the final over of the innings. In their second match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at home, they again started poorly with letting Kolkata score a big total of 178. But they managed to steal that game away from KKR as they scored a massive 60 runs in the final 4 overs to clinch the match.
Mumbai’s batting looks a bit shaky but Jos Buttler scored a fiery fifty in their first match and Hardik Pandya hit brilliant cameos in both the matches and also Delhi boy Nitish Rana performed very well in both the matches with a match-winning fifty in their last game.
So, Mumbai Indians (MI) now have brimming confidence in them as they won a thrilling and improbable match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) a couple of days ago and now with their spearhead Lasith Malinga getting a game in and Krunal Pandya showing some good form with the ball, they will now look to stop the defending champs at home.
The overall head-to-head is equal with both sides having won four matches apiece, but reigning champions Hyderabad won both their matches against Mumbai Indians (MI) last season. However, these matches happened in Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad, and the Sunrisers’ record against Mumbai in Mumbai is poor as they lost both their matches they played there. So, this makes today’s match an enticing prospect for the fans.
