PSL 2018 Prize Money: Pakistan Super League is all set to roll out its third edition, PSL 2018 from 22nd February with the final scheduled on 25th March. PSL is one of the most popular T20 league in the world founded in 2016. The competition is called as HBL PSL T20 due to sponsorship reasons. Islamabad United was the winner of Inaugural edition who received $500,000. PCA is looking to make it bigger this season and therefore, they have decided to increase the PSL prize money to $1 million.

Apart from this, there are quite a bit of surprise in the store about the tournament. First and foremost, the big final will be played in Lahore, Pakistan. Yes, cricket is expected to return to Pakistan and that’s good news for Pakistani fans. This is really a good news for cricket in general as this will help them to improve cricket environment in the country.

PSL 2018 Prize Money

PSL is a replica of India’s version of T20 extravaganza IPL, although on a smaller scale. Total 5 teams slug it out in Dubai for the biggest prize in Pakistan. PSL is a stage for budding Pakistani players to rub shoulders with the some foreign greats. And some of the performances in the PSL have stood out last year and this year may not be different. Runners-up  $200,000 (₹2.1 crore PKR)
3rd Placed Team in Playoff  $100,000  (₹1 crore PKR)
4th Placed Team in Playoff   $50,000 (₹52 Lakh PKR)
Individual Performances Rest of the $50,000 will be used as cash prizes for players during PSL 2017.

The prize money of PSL is decided by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Pakistan Super League (PSL) governing councils. The first edition of the tournament was successful and in hope to make it big, the prize money has also increased.

The winning team would get a prize money of a whopping $700,000. It is an increase of about $200,000 from the last edition while the runner’s up is also going to benefit from the increase in the purse money. From $200,000 last year, they are going to have a new PSL 2018  prize money of $350,000, an increase of $150,000.

The increase in PSL prize money is just a clear indication that PCB wants to lure top players into the league and eventually lead them to Pakistan for the final. Not only this there is also an incentive for players to perform well. The prize money for Man Of the Match and other awards for top performers has also got an increment from $300,000 last year this year payers are going to get $400,000.
