Top 10 Best Chasers in World Cricket

Chasing is an art which involves keeping calm in nerve wrecking situations.And some of the greats have made it their thrill sport, chasing daunting and tricky targets at will and leading their teams to memorable wins from the jaws of defeat. Here is my list of the top 10 chasers in world cricket. These cricketers are the most thrill seeker and giver that the world of cricket has ever seen.

10. Javed Miandad

You need not know more about this diminutive batsman from our neighboring country. His last ball six against Chetan Sharma is a tale from another story. Although not known to keep his calm as a batsman, he really packed a punch when it came to chasing.

9. Michael Bevan

This Australian is considered the greatest in terms of chasing by some. Part of the all conquering Australian term, he surely knew how to handle pressure and play with bowlers in his team. His average of 53.58 in ODI’s do tell a story of his greatness.

8. Misbah-Ul-Haq

This right-hander has defied age and logic while scoring runs for his country. Many times the lone warrior on his side, he has proved time and again that he his one of the great chasers the world has ever seen. He is one of the most successful Pakistani batsmen and also one of the best chasers in world cricket.

7. Michael Clark

Surely underrated this great of the game just knew how to score runs. Surely not as gifted  as some other greats, he made chasing a non fussy job with his clear approach. His 74 off 72 in the final against New Zealand in the 2015 Cricket World Cup is surely notable.

Mr. Cricket surely he was. This genius from Australia is surely one  of the greatest ambassadors of chasing. With an average of 48.45 in ODI’s he guided the Australian team to numerous victories all around the world. His onslaught of Saeed Ajmal  scoring 22 of just 4 balls to guide his team to the finals of 2010 T20 world Cup final was just a sample piece of his chasing prowess.

This erratic batsman from the Caribbean Islands is one of the main reasons that West Indies are two time World T20 champions. Be it against Srilanka or England, he has done it against all.

Starting from the front this Australian big hitter always set the tone for his country in big chases. With a chasing average of 52.80, he really bullied bowlers while chasing. His record 185 not out against Bangladesh surely stood out. He was one of the best chasers in world cricket.

Virat Kohli is the run machine of team India and probably the best batsman in the world currently. He is a man who can do no wrong while chasing. Be his smashing of Malinga in Hobart or his herculean effort against Australia in Mohali he just knows every trick about chasing.
