Top 5 Highest Successful Chases by India in ODI

5. 330/4 against Pakistan in Dhaka, 2012

India were bogged down by 329 that Pakistan had scored while batting first. Pakistan had a potent looking attack comprising Saeed Ajmal, Umar Gul and Wahab Riaz at their disposal. But who matters in front of King Kohli. Kohli showed his masterclass and made career-best 183 of just 148 balls while smashing Pakistani bowlers all round the park. It was special for Kohli not only because it came against our arch rivals Pakistan but also he did it in-front of his idol Sachin. Sachin also played a crucial role in the match by scoring 48 of 52 balls.

4. 331/4 against Australia in Sydney,2016

The only chase in the list that does not include a significant contribution from Kohli. India pulled off a miracle in Sydney. With chips down as they had lost the previous 4 ODI’s and with a huge total on the board, India went off to a flyer with a 123 run opening partnership. But the Man of the Match was the man from Bangalore Manish Pandey. He scored a brilliant 104 off just 81 balls to guide India to a famous win in Sydney.

3. 351/4 against Australia in Nagpur,2013

Another masterclass by Indian batsmen. Although they were assisted by dew, chasing 351 is by no means a small effort. India cruised home with a comfortable victory without any jitters. Kohli scored a quick fire 115 of just 66 balls but the real damage was really done by the openers who stitched 178 run partnership to set up a heck of a chase.

2. 356/7 against England in Pune, 2017

Run Machine Kohli at his best with a more than able help from Kedar Jadhav who scored a blistering 120 runs, India pulled off the most unlikely of chases. England batsmen had battered Indian bowlers black and blue and set up a colossal target of 350. They were ably backed by their bowlers who made in roads by picking 4  quick Indian wickets but what happened after that was carnage by Kohli and Jadhav.Kohli starting his ODI captain innings with an indelible victory.

1. 362/1 against Australia in Jaipur, 2016

Another chase that was set up by the openers. Dhawan and Rohit made a mockery of the Australian attack and they plundered it with absolute disdain. Rohit Sharma smashed an unbeaten 141 off just 123 balls. He and Virat Kohli added 186 for the second wicket. The final icing on the cake was the fastest century by an Indian in ODI, yes Kohli scored a 100 off just 52-ball which helped India to chase down the target in just 43.3 overs.
