This IPL has been hit by many injuries and there are many big players that are missing from this season due to injury. But among all the team, the two team that have been affected a lot by the injuries are the Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The players like KL Rahul in Royal Challengers Bangalore and JP Duminy and Quinton de Kock in Delhi Daredevils will not be able to feature in any of the game in this IPL because of injury.
RCB announced the replacement for the Indian opening batsman KL Rahul. He will be replaced by the young Kerala batsman Vishnu Vinod who is known for his aggressive style of batting in the domestic games.
The right-handed batsman has done well for Kerala in the domestic T20 format and has scored 338 runs in 38 matches at an average of 33.80 with a strike-rate of 143.22. The addition of Vinod will make sure that the RCB will have a good wicketkeeper and an aggressive opening batsman.
Indian opening batsman KL Rahul sustained a shoulder injury during the first Test match against Australia in Pune. He continued to play in the series despite the injury as he believed that it is important to play for the country and he did perform well in all the test matches. He would miss the tenth edition of the tournament and will travel to London to undergo a surgery to be 100% fit for the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy that begins in June.
On the other hand, Ben Hilfenhaus will replace the injured JP Duminy in the Delhi side. Hilfenhaus has represented Australia in all the three formats of the game including 27 Tests, 25 One-Day Internationals, and 7 T20 Internationals. He has given many good performances in the Big Bash, the Australian domestic t20 league. He has also played for two IPL franchises in past editions.
Both the teams are hoping that the new player would add a new dimension to their team and fulfil the gap created due to injury to their key players.
