After the qualifying race Mercedes driver Hamilton said that this race is going to be very tough and mere securing the first position in the qualifying race does not mean that he is going to win the race. He added that all the constructors have come up with the new and improved design this year which will increase the competition between the drivers. This means that more fun for the audience as they would probably get to witness the close race this year.

Kimi Raikkonen was fifth on the grid followed by Red Bull’s young sensation Max Verstappen. It was a major disappointment for the Australian crowd at Albert Park though as hometown hero Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull could only manage to qualify at 10th position on the grid.
