FIFA Club World Cup 2016 Schedule & Fixtures

The FIFA Club World Cup 2016 schedule and match fixtures were announced by Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). The tournament begins on 8 December and will end with final on 18 December 2016 in Japan. The competition features total six continental clubs and a representative of the host country. Barcelona was the defending champions of the competition but failed to qualify for 2016 edition. But La Liga rival and 2015/16 UEFA Champions League winner Real Madrid will play in the tournament

The FIFA Club World Cup 2016’s playoffs, quarter-finals and 1st semi-final match to be played at the Suita City Football Stadium in Osaka while the 2nd semi-final and final of the tournament to be played at the International Stadium Yokohama which previously hosted the 2002 FIFA World Cup between Brazil and Germany. As per FIFA Club World Cup 2016 schedule, the final match will be played between Winner of 1st Semi Final vs Winner of 2nd Semi Final match on 18 December 2016 while both semi-finals loser clubs will battle for Third Place on the same day.

Apart from 2014 FIFA Club World Cup champions Real Madrid, the teams who will participate in the tournament are the host club, South America’s Mamelodi Sundowns, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, Atlético Nacional, Club America (CONCACAF) and Auckland City FC (OFC).

The draw to decide the positions of the three teams which enter the quarter-finals round was held on 21 September 2016. If a match is tied after normal playing time then match will get extra time but even if game remains tied then the match will decide via a penalty shoot-out . In the case of tied in the fifth place and third place match, there will a penalty shoot-out is held to find the winner.
