Barcelona will take on Juventus in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the champions league on Tuesday. The match will be the repeat of 2014-15 champions league final in which Barcelona came out on top be beating them 3-1. Barcelona will look to stamp his authority on the champions league title and win the match. In terms of the champions league matches, Barcelona is in great form having beaten PSG in the previous match by 6-1 to move to the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, Juventus are also in great form in terms of champions league matches as they had beaten Porto quite easily in the game.
Juventus will start this match as the underdogs just like they did in the finals of 2014-15 but they would love to take revenge with Barcelona of the loss that they suffered in that final. But this time around, Juventus are missing some of their key players from the last time these two sides met.
Juventus and Italy legend Gianluigi Buffon will start in goal for the side. Now the coach will have to decide the fully backs as he will have to choose from Dani Alves or Stephan Lichtsteiner on the right. Alves is the former Barcelona player so might get a chance ahead of the other. But all and all the team looks good to win this match. The team will likely to depend upon Argentinian forward Gonzalo Higuain. The team looks set and could beat Barcelona in the first leg of the quarterfinal.
On the other hand, Barcelona will start the match as the clear favorite. But their main concern will be their current form. They have suffered a humiliating loss against Malaga in the La Liga’s last match. They would need to come up with that loss and perform well in this match. Their forward players need to perform well against the Juventus defense as they focus more on the defense.
The coach will also have the problem in selection as their key player Sergio Busquets will not be available for selection in this match due to suspension. Ivan Rakitic could start the match in central midfield, with Andres Iniesta and Sergi Roberto also being in the team behind the strike force Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Luis Suarez. The team looks very strong and should win this match but nothing could be said so easily as Juventus are known to fight until the last second of the match.
Juventus will have home advantage in this match and would love to take some goals with them in the return leg of this fixture while Barcelona will look to get some away goal with them which will surely give them the advantage in the match.
