Spain Beat France 2-0 as Video Technology Plays Role Multiple Times

Spain has beaten France by 2-0 in a friendly match played between these two sides. It was an exciting match between the two sides as both the sides try to dominate the other but Spin outplayed France of number department. There was lots of drama in the match because of the involvement of video referee in the game. The use of the video technology ensured Antoine Griezmann’s goal was rightly ruled out for offside and Gerard Deulofeu’s strike was awarded.

Spain dominated for large part of the first part but France looked treating on the counter attacks. But neither side was able to put the ball in the net before the interval and home side was sloppy in their final passing.

Spain opened the scoring when Silva scored via a penalty kick in 68th minutes and it got even worse for France when Gerard added a second goal with less under 15 minutes remaining in the match. Deulofeu’s strike was originally given as an offside but, the video referee once again changed the decision.

There were many France’s fans that were blaming the video referee for giving the wrong decision that caused their side to lose. There was big ahead of the game about how video referees would be used. The answer was given in the match.

There were two big decisive points in the match and on both occasions, the referee consulted with the video assistant and the correct decision was given. There was very less disruption in the play and there can be few arguments against it being implemented in the near future.
