The fifth season of the Hockey India League (HIL) will begin on 21st January and conclude on 26th February. The opening match is set to take place between Dabang Mumbai and Ranchi Rays in Mumbai. Jaypee Punjab Warriors is the defending champion of the tournament who defeated Ranchi Rays in the previous final. The semi-finals and final of Hockey India League (HIL) 2017 is scheduled to be held at the 30,000-strong Chandigarh Hockey Stadium.
