Most of the money come from TV rights deal which is shared equally between the teams while revenue from IPL title sponsors and other partner companies is also shared equally between all the teams.

Indian Premier League IPL 2016 total prize money is around ₹47 crore ($7 million). The winner team of 2016 IPL will get around ₹20 crore ($3 million) while the losing finalists team will get ₹11 crore ($1.5 million). Third and fourth finish team will get ₹7.5 crore each.
