Qatar MotoGP Grand Prix 2017 Results & Highlights

The first MotoGP of the 2017 season, Qatar Grand Prix won by Viñales followed by Dovizioso. It took place from 24th to 26th March 2017 at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar. Marc Márquez was the defending champion of MotoGP 2017 who won the title at the 2016 Japanese motorcycle Grand Prix. Jorge Lorenzo will now ride for Ducati and Maverick Viñales has joined Yamaha. The 2017 Qatar MotoGP Grand Prix weekends starts with the first free practice sessions on Thursday, 23rd March, unlike other Grand Prix while MotoGP second and the third free practice sessions are on Friday, 24th March. The qualifying sessions for all three classes will take place on Saturday, 25th March and the main race will begin on Sunday, 26th March.

Losail International Circuit, Qatar

The Losail International Circuit located in Doha, the capital city of Qatar. The circuit was opened on 2nd October 2004 for the inaugural event the Marlboro Grand Prix of Qatar. The main straight is over a kilometre in length and track is 5.4 km in length. It is surrounded by artificial grass designed to stop the sand encroaching on the track similar to the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.

Lorenzo wins MotoGP 2016

Qatar MotoGP Preview:

This will be the most experienced lineup because 21 full-time riders and only one rookie make the grid in the opening race with around 95 grand Prix wins between them.

The Austrian Grand Prix is scheduled for MotoGP 2016 after 19 years. The race will be held at the Red Bull Ring, which was the venue of the last Austrian Grand Prix when the track was called A1 Ring.
