India played in Bangalore in 2014 when hosts lost 2-3 to formidable Serbia in a World Group Play-off tie.

India and Uzbekistan are locked 2-2 in Head-to-Head record. Last time two teams clashed against each other in April 2012 when visitors emerged 3-2 winners.

It will be the first tie for veteran Mahesh Bhupathi, a 12-time Grand Slam champion and veteran of 35 Cup ties as the non-playing captain of India and the team for the second round rubber will be picked in the first week of March.

In fact, he and Leander Paes hold the record for the longest doubles win streak in the event — an unbeaten run of 24 after which the duo stopped playing together.
