2017 Pro Wrestling League Season 2 Schedule & Fixtures

The Pro Wrestling League 2017 schedule is finally announced by the ProSportify in association with Wrestling Federation of India. Defending champions Mumbai Marathi will face runners-up Haryana Hammers in the opening game of the second edition of Pro Wrestling League. The tournament is scheduled to start from 2nd January 2017. All matches of the PWL 2017 will be held at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium in Delhi.

It was expected that there would be eight franchises as compared to six teams in the inaugural edition but PWL officials confirmed that there will be no increment in the number of teams. Pro Wrestling League 2017 Schedule

The 2016 Pro Wrestling League Season 2 is rescheduled to start on 2nd January and it will end on 19 January 2017. The players’ auction took place 16 December, 15 days before the start of the tournament instead of mid-November 2016.

The tournament will witness a total of 54 wrestlers participating in the season 2. The matches will be played in 9 categories out of which 57, 65, 70, 74 and 97 kg are male categories and 48, 53, 58 and 69-75 kg are female categories. The official PWL season 2 schedule and match fixtures are updated here.

The league will feature total 15 matches in the group stage followed by two semi-finals on the 17th and 18th. The 4 group toppers will qualify to the finals which is scheduled to take place on 19th January 2017

2017 PWL Season 2 Teams

The tournament will feature six teams like last year but this season, Bengaluru Yodhas will be replaced by a franchise from Jaipur while ownership of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh franchise were changed. The names of six teams are Delhi Sultans, Jaipur Ninjas, Mumbai Maharathi, UP Dangal, NCR Punjab Royals and Haryana Hammers.

Each team will consist of a total of 9 players and among them, there will be 5 Indians and 4 foreign players including 5 men and 4 women. Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia, Geeta Phogat are some of the big names participating in the tournament.
